Reflections on my book research adventure in New York

A while ago, my business book proposal was shortlisted in the Financial Times "Bracken Prize" competition, and I decided to move to New York for several weeks to develop this idea further.

As some of W Insight readers already know, I spent the past three months in New York, researching the relationship of Millennials (born 1981-1996) with money. I aimed to find as much information as possible for the business book I’m working on.

It was definitely a fruitful time for me. I was granted a visiting status scholar at my alma mater (Columbia University), which allowed me to access overwhelming university library resources and receive guidance from accomplished journalism professors. I interviewed world-class economists, fintech startup founders, and financial advisors. I have a ton of research that I hope I will soon transform into a business publication.
Also, I was lucky to spend quality time with W Insight’s US-based contributors, Phyllis and Diana. I cannot express how lucky I feel to work in such a creative and inspiring team for this women-oriented social project. And please expect new interviews on the platforms very soon!

Coming back to the book project, I am now back home in Poland and continuing to work on it. And I’m super proud to share that on November 20, I will speak on the Financial Times panel “The Best of Bracken Prize” about working on the business book idea, the challenges I have faced (and still facing), and ways to cope with these. Everyone interested in business writing can join from anywhere in the world, and all you have to do is click this link and register. Let me know if you plan to join!
